Keynote title: Next generation emergency call technology
Anna Grocholsky Ing. Filip Maleňák graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies, majoring in Biomedical Technology and Bioinformatics at VUT in Brno. As part of this study, he wrote a bachelor thesis, which gave the basis to the Záchranka app. In 2015, together with Alfa-Helicopter, he founded the Medical Information Technologies company. This company still focuses on specialized applications and created the original application Záchranka in the Czech Republic. Another work of this company is for example the Rettung application for Austria or application „V Bezpeci“ for South Moravian Region.

Since 2016 he has been the director of Záchranka, a non-profit organization, that operates and develops the application of the same name in the Czech Republic.


Záchranka app

Záchranka is the official mobile application of the Czech Emergency Medical Service, the Mountain Rescue Service of the Czech Republic and the Water Rescue Service of the Czech Red Cross. It works in Austria for rescue and mountain rescue service, in Slovakia for mountain rescue service. The whole rescue system is also planned to be launched in Hungary. It is used to contact emergency services, to educate First Aid practices and to localize the place of the accident. It has been operating since 2016 and it was originally created in cooperation of users and rescuers as a student idea of Filip Maleňák. As of 2019, it has over a million users, around 50 calls through the app every day, and more than 35 000 people have been rescued on the basis of calls from this app. The application also has the largest database of defibrillators in the Czech Republic, with over 1300 on the map.
