Tips for activities in Brno

Tugendhat Villa – Our most important functionalist monument, designed by the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, which is included on the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites. It is definitely worth visiting. The top two floors are comprised of representational, social and living rooms, and the ground floor is filled with technical equipment that even today's modern buildings should not be ashamed of. Tickets are sold out half a year in advance, we recommend fast action.

Brno center walk – Brno center walk – If you just wish to absorb the city atmosphere, see its architectural beauties and have something good to go with it, we offer a city walk tip.

  • Denisovy sady – a walk overlooking the southern part of Brno
  • St. Peter and Paul Cathedral – a national cultural monument, the roots of which date back to the 11th century; for a small fee you can climb up the towers which provide a nice view of the city
  • Zelný trh – here you can see the Reduta Theater, the oldest theater building in Central Europe, Parnas, the baroque fountain, and a covered marketplace, the terrace of which offers a nice view of the Old Townhall and roofs of the surrounding houses
  • Stará radnice, the Old Townhall – the twisted middle spear of the portal, the stuffed crocodile – the Brno Dragon
  • náměstí Svobody – the main square of Brno, where a number of festivals, concerts, markets and other events take place; among others, you can see the fountain with verses from the Moravian poet Jan Skácel and the controversial clock of Brno
  • Moravské náměstí – the baroque St. Thomas church, the Viceregent's palace with a large art exhibition and the quaint statue of Jošt
  • Jakubské náměstí – in the evening hours, the liveliest square of Brno with a unique atmosphere; the magnificent gothic St. James church with the second largest ossuary in Europe
  • Joštova – the corner of Joštova and Česká streets is a popular place for the people of Brno to meet, and also the transfer node for many public transport lines
